Amanda Nelli | Artistic Director, Concert and Chamber Choir Conductor

Known for the vibrant connection she creates between children and music, her infectious energy, and passion for choral music, Amanda is entering her sixth year as Artistic Director of  the Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir (CNCC). Under her leadership, CNCC has become a dynamic organization with four choirs catering to children ages 4-16. As the Music Specialist at Fern Hill Private School in Oakville, ON, Amanda directs a variety of children’s choirs and numerous staged musicals. She is responsible for the design and implementation of the Music Program for elementary aged students. She holds a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, an Hons. Bachelor of Music from the University of Ottawa, and studied choral conducting at the Westminster Conducting Institute in Princeton. Amanda was nominated for the prestigious Leslie Bell Award for Choral Conducting in 2014. Her choirs have won awards at the provincial and national levels, most recently CNCC won gold at the national competition MusicFest Canada. Her Fern Hill Choir placed first at the National Music Festival in 2017 and 2014, and performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts. Amanda is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring a quality music education program to Niagara with the generous support of Chorus Niagara Artistic Director Robert Cooper and Chorus Niagara.

Lynne Honsberger | Concert and Chamber Choir Accompanist

During her long musical career Lynne has accompanied choral ensembles in Toronto, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener and Western New York and appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Toronto, Oakville, Mississauga and Niagara. Lynne was the accompanist for Chorus Niagara for more than 25 years, retiring from that position in 2017. Lynne has had the pleasure of accompanying some of Canada’s top vocalists and instrumentalists in a variety of venues. In addition to her  work with CNCC, Lynne is currently the accompanist for Choralis Camerata Chamber Choir, Director of Music at St.Andrew’s United Church in Niagara Falls, a Director of the Dalhousie Drama and Music Camp and Principal Keyboard for the Niagara-on-the-Lake Sinfonia and Oakville Ensemble. Last season Lynne was the driving force, Music Director and Conductor for Chorus Niagara’s very successful first music performance for children ‘All Aboard’ in Cairns Recital Hall, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

Jennifer McKillop | Training and Intermediate Choir Conductor

Jennifer specializes in teaching music, conducting and designing curriculum for young children. She received her Hons. Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Brock University. During her musical studies, she was honored to receive performing opportunities at the Chancellor’s Inauguration (2001) and at over 150 Convocation Ceremonies (2001-present). She was also awarded for academic excellence, outstanding achievement and exceptional performance ability in singing. These qualities, combined with 20 years of experience teaching make Jennifer’s programming sought after by Montessori Schools, Studios and Music Camps in the Niagara Region, including the Niagara Symphony Summer Music Camp. She also owns and operates her own studio, Grimsby’s FUN School of Music where she offers private lessons and group programs in many instruments for all ages. Along with her active teaching career, Jennifer keeps a busy performing schedule as well, singing in the Niagara Region and GTA. She is currently studying Italian opera with Dr. Maria Vetere and legendary soprano Aprile Millo of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She has traveled to Italy twice, in 2015 and 2016, to further her studies and while in Italy made her Italian debut in a concert honoring the great Renata Tebaldi. She also had the privilege of singing for world class opera Conductor Richard Bonynge. She is please to be working with the Training and Intermediate Choirs this season.

Elise Naccarato | Administrative Director

Elise Naccarato is an emerging conductor and singer from Vancouver, BC where she discovered a love for singing at an early age. This love led to to complete her Hons. Bachelor of Music at McMaster University while participating in the McMaster University Choirs, Ontario Youth Choir and National Youth Choir. With a strong passion for choral music, Elise completed her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of Toronto. She has had the privilege of working for the University of Toronto Women’s Chamber Choir as Assistant Conductor, as Apprentice Conductor for Arcady Ensemble, volunteered with Youth Voices Toronto and in the summer of 2016 was one of two conducting apprentices chosen for the Ontario Youth Choir under the highly respected Choral Conductor Robert Cooper, C.M. In addition to her work with CNCC Elise works as Apprentice Conductor for Orpheus Choir of Toronto and Chorus Niagara, both under the Artistic Direction of Robert Cooper, C.M.

Alyssa Wu | Theory Coordinator

Alyssa is currently a second year science student at McMaster University. She has been studying piano for 9 years and completed her Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Grade 10 piano with First Class Honors in 2015 with Mr.Rivoli Iesulauro. Alyssa is a RCM registered piano and theory rudiments instructor. She is currently working on her RCM Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) piano performance diploma. Alyssa volunteers at a retirement residence in St.Catharines and the Niagara Health System Hospital in St. Catharines and also plays the flute.

Terrence Wu | Training and Intermediate Choir Accompanist

Terrence began learning piano with Ms.Theresa Pothier at age 7 and continues to study piano with Mr.Rivoli Iesulauro. Terrence has also studied with Stéphane Sylvestre, Associate Professor at the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University. Terrence completed his Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Associate of the Royal Conservatory (ARCT) Diploma in 2018 and is currently working on his RCM Piano Licentiate Diploma. He is a registered RCM piano instructor and also studies violin with local violinist, violist, conductor and teacher George Cleland. Terrence is the recent winner of the 15 year old category for piano at the National Finals of the Canadian Music Competition in Montréal, Québec in June 2018. He volunteers at a retirement residence in St.Catharines and the Niagara Health System Hospital in St. Catharines and will graduate from high school in June 2019 with plans to continue his studies at university in instrumental performance for piano and violin.
